Royal Caribbean Unveils "Legend of the Seas," the Next Game-Changing Icon Class Ship
Royal Caribbean International has officially announced the name and debut details of its third Icon Class ship—Legend of the Seas. Set to redefine cruise vacations once again, Legend will launch in July 2026, first sailing seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Spain, before making its grand Caribbean debut in November 2026. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the ship will offer six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean voyages, each featuring a stop at Royal Caribbean’s award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
An Iconic Legacy Continues
With its predecessors, Icon of the Seas and the upcoming Star of the Seas (debuting August 2025), already revolutionizing the cruise industry, Legend of the Seas is poised to push boundaries even further. The Icon Class has been celebrated for delivering the ultimate vacation experience, combining record-breaking attractions, next-level entertainment, and unmatched family-friendly amenities.
“On the heels of celebrating one year of the record-breaking Icon Class, we are thrilled to announce the name of Royal Caribbean’s third Icon Class vacation,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Legend of the Seas is the next bold step in this exciting era of vacations and the continuation of the Icon Class legacy. We look forward to bringing the revolutionary lineup of experiences to more families and adventurers across Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond.”

European Adventures & Caribbean Getaways
Before its arrival in the Caribbean, Legend of the Seas will offer travelers the chance to explore the best of Europe with seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises. These itineraries will take guests to stunning and culturally rich destinations in Spain, Italy, and France, where they can explore ancient ruins, historic landmarks, and breathtaking coastal landscapes.
In November 2026, Legend will make its much-anticipated arrival in the Caribbean, homeporting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Guests can choose between:
Six-night Western Caribbean sailings, visiting sun-drenched destinations such as Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Mexico
Eight-night Southern Caribbean adventures featuring calls on Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire
Both itineraries will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island paradise, featuring the tallest waterslide in North America, a massive oasis-style lagoon, and the exclusive Coco Beach Club with overwater cabanas.
