Just when we thought Royal Caribbean was ready to debut the final Oasis Class ship, they surprised the world with Oasis Class Seven!
Royal Caribbean Group revealed today its plans to add a seventh vessel to its groundbreaking Oasis Class, signing an agreement with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique for delivery in 2028.
In an official statement, Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, expressed the company's excitement about the future, stating, “While we eagerly anticipate the debut of Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas this summer, we’re already dreaming up her sister ship and the next installation in the brand’s extremely popular Oasis Class. Across our three brands, we are focused on continuously challenging ourselves to deliver the ultimate vacation experience.”
This announcement comes on the heels of Royal Caribbean Group's recent introduction of three new ships, Silver Nova, Celebrity Ascent, and Icon of the Seas.
President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bayley, commented on the milestone, stating, “These are exciting times for Royal Caribbean, and we have an incredible partner in Chantiers de l’Atlantique to bring to life the lucky seventh Oasis Class vessel of what is a remarkable class of ships.”
Since the inaugural Oasis of the Seas in 2009, Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class has set a new standard in the cruising industry, offering innovative features and unforgettable experiences. The Oasis Class ships introduced the neighborhood concept, split superstructure design, and a range of entertainment options across air, ice, water, and stage.
The upcoming addition to the Oasis Class is expected to build upon this legacy, featuring a blend of revolutionary, evolutionary, and signature experiences to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
Laurent Castaing, General Manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, expressed the shipbuilder's commitment and enthusiasm, stating, “This order signals Royal Caribbean Group’s continued confidence in our partnership that has delivered some of the most innovative ships at sea. We look forward to building upon this relationship as we help bring this ship to life.”
With the debut of Utopia of the Seas (Oasis 6), the Oasis class will become the largest class in the RCI Fleet!
The order is subject to financing, with completion expected later this year. Royal Caribbean enthusiasts can anticipate another groundbreaking addition to the Oasis Class fleet, promising a new era of adventure and luxury on the seas.
