MSC Cruises Expands Port Canaveral Presence with New World Class Ship and Year-Round Itineraries
MSC Cruises continues to strengthen its foothold in the North American market, announcing plans to deploy its fourth World Class ship to Port Canaveral for the Winter 2027-2028 season. This move marks a significant expansion for the cruise line, further establishing Port Canaveral as a key hub for its Caribbean operations.
The as-yet-unnamed World Class vessel will offer year-round 7-night Caribbean itineraries, joining MSC World America, which will launch in Miami this April. This expansion is part of MSC Cruises’ ongoing commitment to deploying its most innovative ships in the U.S. market.
Building Momentum at Port Canaveral
Ahead of the arrival of the new World Class ship, MSC Grandiosa will begin offering 7-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral starting in Winter 2026-2027. This deployment builds on previously announced plans for MSC Grandiosa to sail from the port during Winter 2025-2026. Meanwhile, MSC Seashore will continue offering year-round 3- and 4-night sailings to The Bahamas and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
Lynn Torrent, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer of MSC Cruises USA, highlighted the importance of the port:
"Our commitment to Port Canaveral is stronger than ever, thanks to the incredible support from our partners there and the growing demand from our guests who love the port’s convenient location. Having ships dedicated to offering both short and 7-night cruises year-round will ensure we have the right options available no matter when someone wants to sail."
Captain John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral, echoed this enthusiasm, emphasizing the port's readiness to host MSC’s newest vessels:
"The addition of these exceptional ships to our homeported fleet will add even more sailing options from Central Florida and reaffirm the cruise industry's confidence in our ability to consistently deliver a world-class guest experience."
A Glimpse into MSC World America
In April, U.S. guests will experience the cutting-edge features of MSC World America as it embarks on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami. Highlights of the ship include:
Innovative Dining: 19 dining venues, including the first Eataly restaurant at sea.
Exciting Entertainment: 18 bars and lounges, such as the All Stars Sports Bar and The Loft comedy club.
Family-Focused Fun: The Harbour, an outdoor venue featuring a ropes course, water park, playground, and the Cliffhanger over-water swing ride.
Unique Spaces: The World Promenade with its shopping, dining, and one of the longest dry slides at sea.
Luxury Offerings: The largest MSC Yacht Club in the Caribbean provides an exclusive experience for luxury travelers.

The Future of Cruising
MSC Cruises’ World Class platform, first introduced with MSC World Europa in 2022, represents a significant leap forward in ship design and guest experience. By bringing the fourth World Class ship to Port Canaveral, MSC reaffirms its commitment to offering cutting-edge amenities and sustainable cruising in the U.S. market.
As MSC Cruises continues to grow its presence in Port Canaveral, guests can look forward to more options and experiences, making Central Florida a premier departure point for unforgettable Caribbean vacations.
