In a recent leadership transition, Royal Caribbean International has named Christine Coachman as the Vice President of Entertainment, succeeding Nick Weir. With nearly 35 years of dedicated service at Royal Caribbean, Coachman brings a wealth of experience to her new role, poised to lead the team in crafting unparalleled entertainment experiences at sea.

Nick Weir, who had overseen Entertainment at Royal Caribbean since 2013, departs the company after a decade of significant contributions. His visionary approach, notably in integrating robotics into shows and guest experiences, has left a lasting impact on the cruise line’s entertainment offerings.



Christine Coachman's journey with Royal Caribbean began as a dancer, evolving into a multifaceted career within the Entertainment Department. She has curated and produced a diverse array of productions, ranging from Broadway and West End Musicals to spectacular aquatic shows and ice productions. Now, as Vice President of Entertainment, Coachman is poised to continue her legacy of innovation, enriching the onboard entertainment experience for guests worldwide.

Simultaneously, Royal Caribbean International has introduced Angie Stephen as the new Senior Vice President of the brand’s international business. With over 25 years of tenure at Royal Caribbean, Stephen assumes leadership of the company’s global expansion across more than 80 countries.

Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, lauds Stephen’s extensive expertise in sales, marketing, and leadership, underscoring her pivotal role in the brand’s prominence. Stephen will be tasked with overseeing the brand’s expansive global presence, fostering partnerships, and engaging with travelers through tailored channels in diverse markets.


Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Stephen notes the burgeoning opportunities within the vacation industry, citing recent innovations such as the groundbreaking “Icon of the Seas” and the upcoming debut of “Utopia of the Seas.” With a seasoned international team in place, Royal Caribbean is poised to seize these opportunities and deliver extraordinary vacations worldwide.


Angie Stephen's journey with Royal Caribbean commenced over two decades ago, initially as a field sales manager in the Midwest. Her career trajectory has seen her spearhead various initiatives in sales strategy, events, training, and marketing, with a notable stint driving market development in China since 2017, further solidifying Royal Caribbean’s global success.
