A Cruise Ship Crayz Blog
Cruise Ships of 2020 Blog Series Part 1

We are about a month into the new year, and it is time to start getting excited for all the new ships that will debut in the coming months. I am going to highlight a few of the most anticipated ships quickly, but stay tuned for a more detailed look into each of the following vessels.

Asset of Virgin Voyages
Scarlet Lady at Palm Grove Miami

The first new cruise ship to hit the high seas will be the most significant game-changer of the year! Weighing in at only 110,000 gross registered tons, the Scarlet Lady will be an 18+ cruise line. The Scarlet Lady will be the first ship for the brand new company, Virgin Voyages. With Sir Richard Branson at the helm, his first mate, Tom McAlpin, and the rest of the Virgin Voyages team have designed this ship to be industry-changing. Some of the most prominent features would be the first tattoo parlor at sea, all-inclusive dining, exciting stateroom options, gratuities, wifi, and fitness classes included! Scarlet Lady is one ship you do not want to miss, so be sure to catch her as she cruises the Caribbean and Bahamas.

Asset of Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity APEX

To carry along with the ships on order, you will find yourself in awe after catching a glimpse of the brand new Celebrity Apex. Being the second in her class, the Celebrity Apex is sure to give you a cruise of a lifetime. The ultimate feature worth mentioning is the Magic Carpet, which is cantilevered off the side of the ship as it transforms into a bar, restaurant, and tender location. All in all, be sure to catch this technological city at sea as she journeys across Europe and the Caribbean.

Asset of P&O CRUISES
P&O Iona

For all the Brits out there, you should be thrilled to see that in the Spring of 2020, the P&O Iona will debut and will be the largest passenger ship built for the British market. She will also be the first vessel to be powered entirely by Liquified Natural Gas, making her one of the world’s most environmentally friendly cruise ships. Some stand out features includes her half a mile lanai, glass dome, and her massive atrium, which boasts three decks with floor to ceiling windows. The views of the ocean that you can receive from this ship are out of this world! Be sure to catch a sailing as she travels to Norway, Spain, Portugal, The Canaries, and other European countries all roundtrip from Southampton.

Asset of Princess Cruises
Enchanted Princess

Right in time for the summer season, the Enchanted Princess will debut in June. Being the fifth vessel in the Royal Class of ships, you could say that Princess has perfected this class. Similar to her sister, Sky Princess, she will feature their new resort deck. Two things that I am beyond excited to see onboard this vessel would be the three-story piazza as well as Movie Under The Stars on one of the largest television screens at sea. During her inaugural season, she will venture all over Europe sailing from Southampton, Civitavecchia (Rome), Athens, and Barcelona before making her way over to the Caribbean for her winter season.

Asset of MSC Cruises
MSC Virtuosa

In September, the 177,000 gross registered ton, MSC Virtuosa will launch will be one of the largest ships in the MSC fleet. One substantial technological advancement that is being added will be ZOE, which is each passenger's cruise assistant found in every stateroom. Another fascinating feature includes a 111-meter indoor promenade which boasts various bars, lounges, and restaurants. Most of all, an LED screen that spans the length of the ceiling offers exciting shows. Take a journey as she travels around Europe!

Asset of Carnival Cruises
Carnival Mardi Gras

Being one of the most anticipated ships of 2020, Carnival sure is making us wait all year! That’s right, in November, the brand new Mardi Gras will debut is the largest Carnival ship to date. She will offer so many new amenities along with a few firsts for the industry. The most talked-about feature is Bolt. Bolt will be the first-ever roller coaster at sea and will travel at up to 40 miles an hour on the 800-foot long track. The Mardi Gras will also feature several distinct zones around the ship, which should help with passenger flow. As the ship heads straight from the yard to the Caribbean, be sure to book a sailing heading towards the Eastern or Western ports of call!

Asset of Royal Caribbean International
Odyssey of the Seas

Finally, fighting for the crown again is Royal Caribbean International as they debut Odyssey of the Seas. This vessel will be the first-ever Quantum-class ship to be homeported out of Florida. Bringing bumper cars, indoor skydiving, a surf simulator, and a virtual reality trampoline park to the Caribbean. Make sure to jump aboard a sailing heading down to Aruba or maybe head to the Bahamas. Whatever you decide will be amazing as you will see the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean right at your fingertips.

As you can see, we were not kidding when we said that the ships debuting in 2020 would be far beyond incredible. Stay tuned as we work to write a more detailed blog about each one of these floating cities.
