In a spectacular naming ceremony that marked a new era for modern cruising, Celebrity Cruises proudly introduced its latest masterpiece, the Celebrity Ascent. The event, held in Ft. Lauderdale, was graced by the ship's co-Godmothers, Captain Sandy Yawn of Bravo TV's Below Deck fame, and Michelle Dunham, Founder of the Jacksonville School for Autism. In a tradition-steeped moment, with a modern Celebrity twist. Adding to the historic occasion, Greek brothers Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis and Captain Tasos Kafetzis were named Co-Captains, a groundbreaking move for both the brand and the cruise industry.
The Celebrity Ascent promises to redefine the cruising experience with its innovative design by leading architects and interior designers, culinary excellence from Michelin-starred chefs, and an array of entertainment options. Setting sail on its inaugural Caribbean season on December 3, the Celebrity Ascent will embark on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean journey, visiting popular destinations such as St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and the Dominican Republic.
