Introducing Star of the Seas

In an exciting revelation, Royal Caribbean International has unveiled its latest game-changer in the world of vacations, and it's set to be nothing short of extraordinary. Meet "Star of the Seas," the next groundbreaking addition to the Icon Class lineup, which is poised to redefine the way we holiday. With just under 100 days to go until its grand debut in the summer of 2025, anticipation is building as the cruise industry giant promises a vacation experience like no other.

"Star of the Seas" follows in the wake of the iconic "Icon of the Seas," which ushered in a new era of vacations for travelers worldwide. This new addition is set to take things to the next level by combining every kind of vacation experience unique to the Icon Class. From serene beach retreats to lavish resort escapes and thrilling theme park adventures, "Star of the Seas" promises an unparalleled fusion of these diverse vacation elements, offering something for every type of traveler and family.

Currently under construction in Turku, Finland, "Star of the Seas" is shrouded in anticipation, with the cruise line teasing that more details about the ship and its innovative features will be revealed in due course.

Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, expressed his excitement, saying, "The idea of combining the best of every type of vacation into one ultimate adventure has created more excitement than ever anticipated, and Star of the Seas will be the next bold answer to the record-breaking consumer demand we've seen for nearly a year and counting with Icon of the Seas."

The journey began in October 2022 when the first glimpse of "Icon of the Seas" and the Icon Class triggered a booking frenzy, resulting in the cruise line's single largest booking day and the highest volume booking week in its then 53-year history. This unprecedented demand prompted Royal Caribbean to release vacation bookings for 2025-2026 on "Icon" three months ahead of schedule. Now, the world eagerly awaits "Star of the Seas."

Some of the highlights of the Icon Class, as seen in "Icon of the Seas," include a Category 6 waterpark featuring six record-breaking waterslides at Thrill Island, seven pools—one for every day of the week, Surfside—a stay-all-day neighborhood catering to young families, a wide array of entertainment spanning air, ice, water, and stage, over 40 dining and drinking options, and more.

"Star of the Seas" will also mark another significant step in this new era as Royal Caribbean's third ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which combines the use of the cleanest-burning marine fuel available with a proven lineup of industry-leading environmental programs on board. This move underscores Royal Caribbean's commitment to sustainability as it advances towards its parent company, Royal Caribbean Group's ambitious goal of introducing a net-zero cruise ship by 2035. With innovations like waste heat recovery systems and shore power connections, "Star of the Seas" is set to be the cruise line's most environmentally friendly ship to date.

As the countdown to the summer of 2025 begins, travelers from across the globe can hardly contain their excitement, eagerly awaiting their chance to embark on this revolutionary vacation experience. "Star of the Seas" promises to set a new standard for the cruise industry, making memories without compromise for families and adventurers alike. Stay tuned for further updates on this eagerly anticipated journey into the future of vacations.
