Mark your calendars! Royal Caribbean International's newest ship has arrived in Florida, preparing to set sail with its first set of passengers. Odyssey of the Seas is by far one of the Royal Caribbean's most innovative and exciting ships to date. This Quantum Ultra-class vessel is designed to incorporate many fan favorites throughout the fleet. From soaring high above the ocean in NorthStar to grabbing a bite to eat at Playmakers Sports Bar, Odyssey is sure to have something that suits everyone.
Odyssey of the Seas holds the title of being Royal Caribbean's 25th ship in the fleet. The vessel is a whopping 169,000 gross registered tons and measures 1,138 feet long. Odyssey will be the first Quantum Ultra Class ship to cruise from North America. Its homeport of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will allow the vessel to sail alternate Western and Southern Caribbean cruises. Starting July 31st, the Odyssey will take guests to Willemstad Curacao, Grand Cayman, and Perfect Day at Coco Cay.
This Quantum Ultra Class ship is no joke. The excitement and thrills seem never to end onboard this next-generation cruise ship. On the top deck, guests can take a ride on the North Star soaring 300 feet above the ocean's surface, allowing passengers a bird's eye view of both their ship and the destinations in which they sail. For more
adventurous travelers, be on the lookout for times to ride the Flowrider surf simulator, Ripcord by iFly virtual skydiving, and even Skypad, a virtual reality trampoline simulator. If these incredible onboard activities pique your interest, then Seaplex is the place for you. This transformative venue boasts the ability to offer bumper cars, trapeze school, as well as laser tag. Odyssey truly has something for the whole family.
Not only does this ship excel in its onboard attractions, but its dining options also are extraordinary. A first for the cruise line includes offering Teppanyaki for their North American guests. Other fan favorites found onboard Odyssey include Coastal Kitchen, where suite guests and Pinnacle loyalty members can indulge in flavors found under the sea. Wonderland, where the food is equally as important as the experience, and Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar for that savory pasta dish paired with the perfect wine or
limoncello. A notable mention would have to be Royal Caribbean's signature steakhouse, Chop's Grille, on top of many other different dining venues.
Entertainment like everything else on the vessel is sure to be remarkable. With plenty of live performances around the ship, guests will be sure to get on the dance floor. From parties on the top
decks to singing along to your favorite tunes, this ship has got you covered. Like a few of its other fleet mates, Odyssey has the Music Hall and Two70, a state-of-the-art technologically advanced venue that allows for a 270-degree view of the ocean, which transforms into digital screens during showtime. Lastly, found in the Royal Theater, guests can watch Broadway Productions.
Finally, honorable mentions for ways to relax. With a newly reimagined style pool deck featuring casitas, hammocks, and in-pool loungers' guests are for sure to be in awe. While the kids are
off playing in Splashaway Bay, adults can fulfill their relaxation and rejuvenating dreams in Royal Caribbean's Vitality at Sea spa or Solarium. As seen above, Odyssey of the Seas is by far an industry showstopper, and we at Cruise Ship Crayz can not wait to experience all this ship has to offer.
