Disney Cruise Line has announced the upcoming debut of its newest ship, the Disney Destiny, which promises to be a groundbreaking addition to its fleet with a unique focus on Marvel heroes and villains. Set to begin its inaugural season in November 2025, the Disney Destiny will offer four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Disney Destiny is designed to captivate fans of all ages with its dynamic blend of light and dark, reflecting the timeless struggle between heroes and villains that defines the Marvel Universe. From the moment guests step aboard, they will find themselves immersed in Marvel-themed venues and entertainment that are unlike anything seen before at sea.
A Grand Entrance Inspired by Wakanda
The ship's Grand Hall, inspired by Marvel Studios’ "Black Panther" films, will be a striking centerpiece, blending the rich lore of Wakanda with Disney's signature storytelling. Designed in collaboration with the costume team behind the "Black Panther" movies, the hall will feature metalwork reminiscent of Wakandan armor and a stunning light fixture inspired by Vibranium. The hall will also house a statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther, standing as a symbol of protection over the ship and its passengers. This space will serve as a living theater, where interactive shows and immersive programming will bring Disney and Marvel characters to life, engaging guests in thrilling experiences throughout their voyage.
Marvel Magic and Mystical Experiences
In a first for Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Destiny will include The Sanctum, a lounge inspired by the mystical world of Marvel Studios’ "Doctor Strange." This centrally located entertainment parlor will offer a magical atmosphere with a selection of cocktails, spirits, and coffees, surrounded by artifacts and design elements that evoke the supernatural powers of the Sorcerer Supreme. Adding to the Marvel magic, Spider-Man, and his Spider-Bots will adorn the ship's stern in a whimsical attempt at decorating, marking the first time a Marvel superhero has been featured in this hallmark design on a Disney ship.
Luxurious Accommodations with a Heroic Twist
The Disney Destiny will also introduce the Destiny Tower Suite, a luxurious penthouse inspired by Iron Man. Located in the ship’s forward funnel, this suite will offer nearly 2,000 square feet of living space, accommodating up to eight guests with opulent amenities such as a full kitchen, private elevator, and breathtaking views. Concierge-level guests will enjoy exclusive access to areas inspired by the Avengers, providing a hero-worthy retreat with personalized service and premium amenities.
Continuing Marvel Traditions
The Disney Destiny will bring back fan-favorite experiences from other Disney ships, including Worlds of Marvel, a dining experience featuring characters from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" films. Guests can look forward to an out-of-this-world celebration with Rocket and Groot, set to the sounds of an "awesome mix" of hit songs, as well as interactive trivia and activities for the whole family. Additionally, the Marvel Super Hero Academy in Disney's Oceaneer Club will provide young recruits aged 3 to 10 the chance to train alongside their favorite Avengers, making their own heroic dreams come true.
