Discover the Gateway Onboard Celebration

The Final Neighborhood to Debut on Carnival Celebration

As hard as it is to believe a Carnival Ship could beat the Mardi Gras, but Carnival just upped the anty with their next Excel class ship, Carnival Celebration! On Wednesday, June 8, Carnival announced the final new themed zone to debut onboard Carnival Celebration in November 2022.

The Gateway will be the area for explorers from all over the globe to discover new unique destinations right from the Celebration! This extensive multilevel zone design will be inspired by terminals, transportation stations, and departure points around the world. This promenade-style area will feature shopping, dining, and drinking experiences with 12 high-definition multimedia virtual windows displaying ever-changing and unique scenes! These windows will be surrounded by show lighting and a state of the art sound systems that will transport guests to destinations around the world!

During the day, guests will view scenes like sunny skies and what you would typically see onboard a typical Caribbean sailing. However, the magic comes at night when you are transported to Europe, the far east, and so many more places that Carnival visits worldwide.

"The Gateway was created to celebrate the enriching experience we all feel when traveling – not only because of the destinations we travel to, but also the world of cultures we get to explore," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. "We have millions of guests and team members who come from around the world to have fun together and create a welcoming and inclusive environment while sailing to new places – that is the beauty of traveling, especially on a Carnival ship, and that is what this zone will celebrate."
