Carnival Spirit Returns to Service with Exciting Enhancements Following Dry Dock

Carnival Spirit has officially reentered service after a month-long dry dock, debuting a host of new upgrades and enhancements as it embarks on a repositioning journey from Europe to North America. Guests who set sail from Barcelona this weekend are the first to experience the revitalized ship as it begins its voyage across the Atlantic, ultimately heading to Alaska for the summer season.

One of the most notable additions to Carnival Spirit is the introduction of the Heroes Tribute Bar, a dedicated venue honoring active-duty military members and veterans. With this update, the Heroes Tribute Bar is now featured on 14 Carnival ships, further solidifying the cruise line’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating those who serve.

“The new Heroes Tribute Bar and all the other upgrades to Carnival Spirit are part of our ongoing effort to continually enhance our existing fleet with features we know our guests appreciate and enjoy,” said Lisa McCabe, Carnival’s vice president of refurbishments.

Beyond the Heroes Tribute Bar, guests aboard the refreshed Carnival Spirit will find updates throughout the ship. The Cloud 9 Spa, Fitness Center, and retail spaces—including a brand-new Carnival Adventures Shop and Dreams Studio—have all been revitalized. A dedicated Chef’s Table space has been added, along with a new mini golf course. The ship’s casino has been reconfigured with a fresh layout and new gaming machines, while its nightclub has also received a modernized update. Additionally, all youth program areas have been upgraded to enhance the onboard experience for younger guests.

Epic Repositioning Voyages Before Alaska Season

Carnival Spirit is currently sailing a 14-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami, making stops in Malaga and Cadiz, Spain; Ponta Delgada, Portugal; and Bermuda before arriving in Miami on March 30. From there, the ship will embark on a special 15-day Panama Canal voyage to Seattle, with visits to Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, culminating in Seattle on April 14.

Once in Seattle, Carnival Spirit will begin a series of week-long Alaska cruises, taking guests on breathtaking journeys through the Tracy Arm Fjord, with stops in Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria, Canada. Looking ahead to the fall, the ship is set to embark on a 15-day round-trip Carnival Journeys cruise to Hawaii in September, followed by a one-way sailing from Seattle to New Orleans in October before transitioning to its seasonal homeport of Mobile, Alabama.

As Carnival Spirit continues its journey, guests can look forward to an elevated experience on board, thanks to these latest refurbishments. Whether sailing to Alaska, Hawaii, or the Caribbean, the refreshed vessel is poised to deliver unforgettable vacations for cruisers around the world
