Carnival Introduces Carnival Venezia

Italy is much closer to the United States as the Carnival Venezia starts sailing from New York City in June 2023. With year-round sailings from the Big Apple, the Venezia brings Carnival Fun with Italian Style.

It's official! The Costa Venezia has officially been transferred to its sister company, Carnival Cruise Line. The Venezia launched under Costa Cruises in June 2018 and sailed around the Mediterranean before transferring to the Chinese market. From there, she was officially handed over to Carnival Cruise Lines last week to transform into Carnival Venezia. The vessel is similar to Carnival's Vista Class ships but will be grouped into a new class called the Venice Class. In addition, Venezia's sister, Firenze, will also transfer to Carnival next year. The ship is 135,500 gross registered tons and measures 1,161 feet in length.

Starting with a transatlantic crossing on May 25th, the Carnival Venezia will sail from New York City starting June 15th with cruises throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, and New England.

This new cruising concept will perfectly combine Carnival and Costa Cruises. Two venues that guests can look forward to the most are Piazza San Marco which is the ships' atrium, and the Italian Riviera-themed Lido Deck. The Lido Deck has a retractable roof allowing year-round pool access. It would only be a fun ship with Waterworks and Sports Square, which will also be offered on Venezia.

With any perfect combination comes the signature fan favorites. Venues such as Piano Bar 88, Heroes Tribute Lounge, Cloud 9 Spa and Salon, and the adults-only Serenity Retreat can also be found on the Italian vessel. Other venues, including Bonsai and Guys Burgers, will also be added.

After discussing Carnival FUN, it's time to dive deeper into the Italian Style. New food venues include Tomodoro, a Mexican Italian fusion, La Strada Grill, an Italian street eats option, and the Marco Polo/ Canal Grande restaurants being the Main Dining Rooms. Entertainment is also taking a spin with an Italian Street Party, the Gondola Lounge, and the Carnevale Bar and Lounge.

I could go on and on about the endless new additions and fan favorites onboard this ship. Undoubtedly, the Carnival Venezia will bring new experiences and memories to Carnival cruisers.
