Oasis of the Seas, the ship that turned heads and stunned the world in 2009, as the largest cruise ship ever built, weighing nearly 40 % more than any other ship afloat. Oasis of the Seas brought features to the industry that were thought to be impossible.
Ten years after her debut, Oasis of the Seas underwent a $165 million Amplification! As much as we all thought there is no way this ship can be better, Royal Caribbean proved us wrong by putting this ship through the transformation only fit for a queen!
What to Expect:
At first look, Oasis seems to look the same, but as you get closer, her modifications are apparent. Of course, who could miss the Ultimate Abyss, two ten stories dry slide, of the aft of the ship, then the Perfect Storm trio of waterslides, awaiting the next group of daring cruisers! A look at the bow shows the most noticeable difference, the double bridge! Now the captain is not getting more room. The second story of the navigation bridge is set aside for guests who want the same view as the captain while sailing!
New Accommodations:
The Ultimate Panoramic Suite:
The newest accommodations in the Royal Caribbean Fleet boast panoramic views with floor to ceiling windows throughout the suite. Dropdown television, automated window shades, and the best view from the ship anywhere you are, even while taking a bath!
Are all the staterooms updated?
No. Not every stateroom was overhauled during the amplification, but there are select few staterooms that received new upholstery and carpeting!
New Features:
The Perfect Storm Waterslides:
Introduced on Harmony of the Seas in 2016, the Perfect Storm trio of waterslides fits nicely atop Oasis of the Seas new resort deck, bringing thrills and healthy friendly competition to guests of all ages!
The Ultimate Abyss:
Take on the Ultimate Abyss, the largest dry slide at sea, and plunge ten decks from the sports deck on 16 to the heart of the Boardwalk on deck 6! Calling all thrill-seekers or calling those who don't feel like waiting for the elevator!
Splashaway Bay:
The kid's outdoor area "Splashaway Bay" replaced the H2O Zone and it is unrecognizable. This new kid's only outdoor area is complete with two mega dump buckets, water cannons, a small pool, and multiple waterslides! Parents enjoy the sun while the kids enjoy this mini waterpark wonder!
New Venues:
Spotlight Karaoke:
The cliche cruise ship activity, Karaoke, finally receives it's own, well deserved, venue. Complete with private Karaoke booths, fully stocked bar, and nightly open mic Karaoke competitions!
Music Hall:
Made famous by the Quantum class of ships, Music Hall boast that rock age that every generation can get behind. Tribute bands, billiard tables, and dancing is just the average night in this stunningly transformed multistory venue!
Bionic Bar:
Take advantage of that drink package and saddle on up to find, robot bartenders? The Bionic Bar nestled in the heart of the Royal Promenade, these two robotic arms can stir, shimmy, and shake whatever cocktail you like!
Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade:
A sports bar was wanted by the majority of Royal Caribbean passengers, and they responded with Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade! Debuting on Symphony of the Seas in 2018, Playmakers became an instant hit, and two years later, Playmakers spans six ships with plans to debut on four more Royal ships soon!
Sugar Beach:
" I WANT CANDY" is all you will hear as you walk through the doors of this fantastic space! Once you walk through the doors, you can not help but notice every wall is lined with chocolates, gummies, sweet, sour, and every other type of candy imaginable! What could be better, except an ice cream walk-up window! So much sugar so little time!
EL LOCO FRESH:
Adding to the selection of complimentary dining options, and breathing new life into the formerly "Wipe Out Cafe," is the wildly popular El Loco Fresh, made famous after debuting onboard Symphony of the Seas in 2018. El Loco Fresh serves up to make your own nachos, burritos, tacos and more!
PORTSIDE BBQ:
This new Royal Caribbean Specialty dining experience is the first-ever dedicated Bar-B-Que restaurant in the Royal Caribbean Fleet. Portside BBQ open for lunch and dinner with alfresco dining and live music, this is one specialty experience you do not want to miss!
The Lime and the Coconut:
Following along with the new Caribbean themed Resort Deck, the Lime and the Coconut is the multistory, Caribbean drink themed bar that every beverage package bearing guest has been waiting for! Instead of the same old lido deck bar, grab a deliciously crafted beverage and relax in the updated furnished areas, poolside!
