Ovation of the Seas has entered into an unscheduled drydock in Zhoushan, China. This dry-dock has prompted the cancellation of her September 21 and 26 cruise. Royal Caribbean has assured guests and fans of the line that the Ovation is still seaworthy and has entered into dry-dock after a very hard decision amongst executives. Royal has said, "the unscheduled work will help ensure guests continue to enjoy their time on board Ovation." This is the second unscheduled dry-dock in the ships short history after she was forced into dry-dock in April 2017 to address a propulsion issue.
Royal Caribbean has given guests the option to either be rebooked onto the Quantum of the Seas or to receive a full refund of their cruise fare and any purchases made online such as excursion, onboard packages and etc.
