As we all are aware Virgin Group has entered into the cruise industry and we couldn't be more excited. The Virgin Group has long been the disruptors of industries that we all want to see.
With the announcement of a name change on October 18th, 2016, Virgin has already begun to disrupt the industry by becoming "Virgin Voyages." With a major change, this early in the company development stages Virgin Voyages is bound to amaze us all and change cruising as we know it.
What do we know about Virgin Voyages?
Well, to start we know that they are hiring top talent to fill their executive board beginning with their CEO, Tom McAlpin. McAlpin is the former CEO of Disney Cruise Line and The World having an incredible professional background, he brings an incredible amount of knowledge, skills and abilities to Virgin Voyages. In addition to top talent, Virgin Voyages promises to have the next generation cruise ships all at 110,000 GRT and carrying roughly 2,800 passengers and 1,100 crew. These ships are to be built with the environment in mind promising to be “ the cleanest fleet to sail the seven seas.” Virgin Voyages will depart out of Port Miami and will sail seven day cruises to the Caribbean.
Aside from that not much is know about the new cruise line however, we do know that we are extremely excited and that we all want to be the first passengers onboard.
