The Ocean: The most Powerful and frightening force in the world.

On Sunday, February 7 Royal Caribbean International's newest ship Anthem of the Seas was caught in the middle of a nor eastern. During the storm Anthem of the Seas saw winds of up to 150 knots and waves up to 30 feet. After the Anthem was warned of a storm with only 40 knot winds and seas of up to 20 feet she proceeded with caution, only to be caught in the middle of the worst storm ever witnessed by the captain.

luckily only minor injuries were sustained, however the anthem sustained major damage. The ship is still seaworthy and able to sail however a lot of work had to be done in order to be up to Royal Caribbean standards.

Mother Nature is a force to never under estimate and she does not work around your vacation. Royal Caribbean handled this is the best way possible completely refunding all passenger and giving them a 50% discount on a future cruise.

The Anthem of the Seas did set sail on it's February 13th sailing and has returned with happy guests and a ship still under repair. Currently the only repairs that need to be made a a few ceiling tiles to replace and some deck furniture needs to be replaced as well. With a statement from Royal Caribbean International's CEO Michael Baylay saying that the North Star, Flowrider Ripcord and Seaplex are all fully operational.
